Dimensional inspection
Inspection scope is agreed per order. Depending on the part and the producing factory, this can include a first-article inspection against your drawing and SPC (statistical process control) on critical dimensions. Achievable tolerances depend on material, thickness, geometry, and tooling, and are confirmed per drawing before quoting. PPAP-style documentation can be requested, but is not assumed for every order.
Material traceability
Material origin and the documents available (mill certificates, certificate of origin) depend on the material source and are confirmed in the quote; tell us in your RFQ which documents you need. We don't buy parts from China and relabel them - that would destroy your compliance position, and our business runs on your trust in the origin claim.
How the factory network is qualified
Formosa Stamping is a manufacturing coordinator, not a single factory: each order is routed to the Taiwanese factory we judge best equipped for that process, tonnage, and material - chosen by capability, not sales quota. Before quoting, we check the factory's equipment and certifications against your specific part and tell you what we have and have not been able to verify.
On certifications: which formal certifications apply to a given order depends on which factory in the network produces it and what the project requires - tell us in your RFQ if a specific certification is a hard requirement, and we'll confirm which factory can meet it before quoting.
Finishing, scope confirmed per order
Plating (Zn, Ni, Sn, Au flash), anodizing, powder coat, and heat treatment can be arranged through Taiwanese finishing subcontractors; available finishes and the inspection performed before shipping are confirmed in the quote.
Tooling ownership and non-disclosure
Tooling ownership, exclusivity, and non-disclosure can be set out in a written agreement for each project. We share your drawings only with the factories invited to quote, and ask them to keep them confidential.
Can you audit us?
Audits of the producing factory (remote video or on-site) can be discussed for your project; scope and timing are agreed in advance with the factory.
Documents you can ask for (availability confirmed in the quote)
- Mill certificates for the material used
- Certificate of origin (Taiwan)
- First-article inspection report
- SPC data on critical dimensions
- PPAP documentation
Tell us which of these you need in your RFQ so we can scope it into the quote - not every order needs the full set, and asking upfront avoids a second round-trip after samples ship.
